We stayed at the excellent Hotel De La Ville for the night before our Celebrity cruise in the quaint and charming port town of Civitavecchia.
The staff were wonderful and could not be more helpful and accomodating. Andrea and another lovely lady at reception were always attentive, efficient and welcoming. At breakfast, the staff were so cheerful in the impressively arched breakfast hall and the buffet breakfast (including prosecco!) was the perfect start to our cruise day. Our room was comfortable and spacious with all that you could need for a stopover before joining the ship the next day.
Now, what equally impressed me so much about this wonderful hotel was that my wife left her Kindle in haste in our room - only realising on our second day at sea. We contacted the hotel and they said don’t worry, we have it and we will keep it safe for you until your return.
Luckily I was in Rome on business for the night so I hopped on the train (a great option to get to the port by the way) and have just picked up the Kindle from Andrea at reception - such a smart and professional man…it was good to see you again, Andrea!
So, a great location, superb staff, comfortable and complete accommodation in a lovely town by the sea with many little bars and interesting restaurants - what’s not to like?!?
Then throw in the fact that they are so respectful and trustworthy with their guests’ property - well, I travel internationally a lot with my job and I have to say that this has been truly exceptional and we are so grateful for all their care and attention at the hotel.
